BlueHelm ("we", "our", or "the app") is a boating companion app developed by CKS Developers LLC. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

Location Data: BlueHelm accesses your device's GPS location to provide anchor watch monitoring, journey tracking, and marine weather features. Location data is processed on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly share it (e.g., sending a float plan to a contact).

Local Storage: App preferences, anchor history, journey logs, and subscription status are stored locally on your device using on-device storage. This data is not synced to any external server.

Purchase Information: Subscription purchases are processed through Google Play or the Apple App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipts — no personal information such as your name or email is shared. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number.
We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs.
We do not serve advertisements.
We do not sell or share personal data with third parties.

Permissions

Location (foreground & background): Required for anchor watch alerts and journey tracking. Background location is used only while anchor watch is active so the app can alert you if your boat drifts.
Notifications: Used to deliver anchor drift alerts, timer alarms, and other safety notifications.

Data Retention

All data is stored on your device. Uninstalling the app removes all stored data. We do not retain any user data on external servers.

Children's Privacy

BlueHelm is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
